The African American Cultural Center keeps children creatively entertained, culturally enlightened and educationally motivated during the summer months with the Jumpin’ Jambalaya Summer Program.
The day camp runs Monday through Friday each June through August, from 7:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m. and serves Buffalo families with children ages six to 12.
Activities include Drumming, Storytelling, Video Production, Visual Arts, Basketball, Fashion Design and other fun and educational classes instructed by AACC staff and community supporters. Tuition includes breakfast, lunch and all field trips. Each camp ends with the traditional AACC Unity Day, a family celebration to showcase what the children did over the summer.
The AACC Jumpin’ Jambalaya Summer Program is certified by the New York State Department of Health. Some families may be eligible for tuition assistance through the Erie County Department of Social Services Child Care Unit
